1 Timothy 3:8-9
Deacons, likewise, are to be men worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain.
They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.

Proverbs 22:6. Train a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Jared & Ashley Lusk
Jared was raised as a Pastor's kid and was involved in many youth groups as a child. Jared was saved June 22, 2004 at Wise County Virginia FBC of Pound; and baptized the next month. Jared says, I thought I got saved when I was young and went up just because somebody else did; even got baptized two or three times and thought I was ok. But, I just didn't feel relieved and I knew something wasn't right. Years later, I went to Virginia and for my 18th birthday, and on Sunday, the whole day, I felt wierd- like something was missing. That night I knew if I got in my truck something bad was going to happen. I knew then what was wrong, God was knocking on my heart, and so on June 22, 2004, I opened my heart and let God have it all. It was the best decision I ever made.
Jared is owner of Tennessee Timber.
Ashley Wanamaker Lusk - was saved at a young age in 1996. She remembers going up to the altar and asking Jesus to come into her heart and to forgive her of her sins. She doesn’t think many people took her salvation at such a young age seriously, and she was discouraged from baptism. She wasn’t baptized until a few years later in 2001 at the age of 13 when she felt she couldn’t put it off any longer. Ashley is the owner of Pretty Things and as been a member of Pearls of Christ Church since November 14, 2004.

James 5:14-15 (KJV)
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Hebrews 13:17. Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
Assistant Pastor: Travis Wanamaker
Serves as the Assistant Pastor and has served in the ministry of the church since approximately 1998. Travis began as Minister of Music and then he, served as a deacon as well until becoming Assistant Pastors on June 1, 2014.
Travis has studied and continues to study through Liberty University since January 2012. He is currently pursuing his BS in Religion.
Travis was saved on October 6, 1985. As the pastor was preaching (who happened to be my dad), I was convicted by the Holy Spirit to be saved. As a six year old child, I had never experienced this strange feeling. I didn't really know what to do; so I told my grandpa, who was seated beside me, that I wanted to be saved but not right now. My grandpa was hard of hearing and only heard the first part and not the "not right now" part. Therefore, he stops my Dad mid-sermon and told him that I wanted to be saved. At that moment, I had to choose whether to go through the motions to make everyone happy, or to truly give my life to Jesus. It was an easy choice, because my family had taught me how good it is to be a Christian, so I gave my life to Jesus.
I have served the Lord since that day and haven't had the desire to go back into the world. Of course, I have been tempted and failed on many occassions; but I have never once regretted serving the Lord. I have learned to repent quickly and keep on going forward for the Kingdom of Heaven.
OUR PASTOR : Anthony Wanamaker
Church Founder January 1984
I was saved in 1975 at the age of 14 at home while in bed. I had a dream that I was thrown into hell and had landed on a ledge about a foot wide. As I was looking up, I woke up. I then woke up mama and daddy and told them. They asked if I wanted to pray and I said yes. They knelt beside the bed where I layed and I asked the Lord to forgive me and He did. When forgivenesscame I thought I was floating and put my hands upso as not to hit the ceiling, I opened my eyes and seen that I was still laying in bed.
I would hate to know what my life would have been like if I had not come to know Jesus. It's the greatest decision in anyones life to become a Christian. I know for a fact it was mine.

Catrenia Wanamaker was saved July 1970 at the alter of Blue Wing Baptist Church where my grandpa pastored. During the alter call at our yearly revival my mama noticed that something was wrong with me. She asked me if I wanted to go pray and I said yes. We went ot the alter and I gave my heart to the Lord. I asked Him to forgive me for all my sins and asked Him to save me, and that’s just what He did.
